World Antibiotics Awareness Week : One Health Approach is the Way to Go

Our Senior Advisor Dennis Erpelding, on the occasion of the World Antibiotics Awareness Week,shares his views on what we have learned in the last 10 years about managing the global threat of antibiotics resistance (AMR) in the livestock sector.He calls for the strengthening of the One Health Approach and for each stakeholder to do his/her part to combat this global menace.He highlights the need for appropriate legislations, policies and regulations based on science to govern antimicrobial use in food animals and for the companies involved in livestock production to put in place prudent antimicrobial use policies and antimicrobial stewardship programs.
