Nov 8, 2020: Indonesia’s President signed on Nov 3, 2020, the Job Creation Law (RUU Cipta Kerja) that is popularly known as the Omnibus Law. The Indonesian Parliament earlier approved the Law on Oct 5, 2020. The Law simplifies doing business in Indonesia, facilitate foreign investment and create local employment.
The Law will have an impact on the livestock, animal health and halal sectors and will amend a number of major laws in these sectors. This will include Law No. 18/2009 on Livestock and Animal Health, Law No. 22/2019 on Sustainable Agriculture Cultivation System, and Law No. 33/2014 on Halal Product Assurance.
