PublicPolicyAsia Advisors (PPAA) is proud to announce the appointment of Professor Jeyakumar Henry, Ph.D., FIFST(UK), Fellow of the American Society for Nutrition, as our new Senior Advisor for Food Science, Human Nutrition, and Public Health.
With over four decades of global experience in the UK, Europe and Singapore spanning academia, international policy, and industry, Professor Henry brings unparalleled expertise in food security, functional foods, and nutrition policy to PPAA. His pioneering work, including the globally adopted “Henry’s Equation” for predicting the basal metabolic rate and his leadership in fortifying food systems for vulnerable populations, have earned him prestigious accolades, such as the W.K. Kellogg International Food Security Award and the Niigata International Food Prize. He was the founding Director of the Clinical Nutrition Research Centre at A*STAR, Singapore, where he spearheaded research at the intersection of food science and nutrition. In addition, he has served as a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at the National University of Singapore, contributing extensively to academic advancements in nutrition science
